House Removals and Relocations

Whether you’re moving around town or around the world, Crown Relocations can manage your move from start to finish – we have 11 branches across New Zealand, as well as over 180 offices in 55 countries, and we specialise in house removals.

The First Step

Start by contacting Crown and speaking with one of our friendly Customer Sales Consultants, who will either discuss your move in detail over the phone, or arrange for one of our Residential Sales Consultants to visit you in your home. This is a free, no-obligation service. Our Consultants will be able to explain exactly how Crown would manage your relocation, and assess what you are looking to move, before providing you with a comprehensive ‘house removals’ quote. Whether you’re looking at just moving a few items or a full house removal, Crown can help. They can also assist you with arranging transit protection, pet relocation, vehicle transport, and other additional services.

On The Day

Once you have confirmed your house removal with Crown Relocations, a dedicated coordinator will act as your single point-of-contact at origin to manage your move, assist with documentation, and to ensure that we meet or exceed your service expectations. On the day of relocation, a team of our packers, who are trained to international standards, will arrive at your residence. If you are moving locally or domestically, they will blanket-wrap and pad the furniture and plastic-bag the mattresses and lounge suites. Selected items can be export wrapped for extra protection, and Plasma/LCD TVs are boxed. Depending on what you have organised, the cartons will be packed by Crown or ‘owner-packed’ before being loaded into the furniture vehicle or purpose-built container. For international ‘house removals’, all of the furniture is export wrapped, and the boxes professionally packed by Crown. Custom-built crates are used to protect fragile and high-value items, such as Plasma and LCD TVs. All of your belongings will be well labelled and recorded on a detailed packing inventory.

Delivery

At your destination you will also have a dedicated coordinator who will manage the delivery of your belongings. As your items are unloaded and placed in the right rooms, they will be checked off the original packing inventory. Cartons that were ‘packed by Crown’ will be unpacked to a flat surface, and all of the waste packing materials taken away. Because there are Crown offices at all major destinations, we don’t have to rely on third party agents, and you are assured of the same high-quality Crown service from beginning to end.

A few tips for delivery day:

  • Avoid having your delivery scheduled on the same day as your property settlement given that settlements can be subject to delays.
  • Ensure Crown is well aware of any difficult access issues at the new residence.
  • If you wish to delay delivery, Crown also has storage options available at destination. These costs will be provided to you by your Customer Sales Consultant at the start of the move, and you simply need to contact your destination coordinator when you wish to arrange the final delivery to your new home!
